Capacity Building and Learning
Build practical capability that teams can use
ERC designs applied learning support around real roles, tasks, tools, and decisions. The aim is not simply to deliver a workshop, but to help participants practise a capability and use it with greater confidence and consistency.

Decision supported
This service supports decisions about team readiness, field quality, monitoring practice, evidence use, and the capabilities needed to carry out or oversee research responsibly.

What ERC does
ERC may assess learning needs, define practical objectives, adapt materials to participant roles, facilitate demonstrations and practice, observe performance, provide feedback, support action planning, and develop reference materials.
Formats may include in-person or remote workshops, field-team briefings, tool practice, coaching, facilitated learning sessions, validation workshops, and decision-focused interpretation sessions. The format depends on the task, audience, language, timing, and available technology.
Quality safeguards
Quality safeguards may include role-based objectives, practice using realistic but non-sensitive material, observation checklists, correction and repeat practice, accessible facilitation, participant feedback, and clear next-step responsibilities. Attendance alone is not treated as evidence of competence.
Client deliverables
- Learning-needs summary
- Session plan and participant materials
- Enumerator or supervisor guidance
- Practice tools and observation checklists
- Facilitated workshop or coaching sessions
- Learning report and practical action plan
- Reusable reference materials
Scoping inputs
Share the target participants, roles, current experience, task they must perform, language needs, available time, delivery setting, technology constraints, and the change expected after the support.
Begin with what participants must be able to do
ERC can shape a practical learning approach around the role, context, and evidence task.
